Rolling Top 5® Executive Certification
An executive that acts as a champion for the corporation’s top problems. A Rolling Top 5 executive will identify top problems within the corporation and ensure that projects relating to the problems are completed quickly and efficiently. A Rolling Top 5 Executive will leverage the Shainin solution throughout the corporation where applicable.
Candidates for Rolling Top 5 certification are: CEO’s, Presidents, Vice Presidents, Directors, Plant Managers, and Chief Engineers.
Course Requirements:
- Attend Rolling Top 5 Executive class (1 day) within 18 months of applying for certification.
- Participate in the development of the Rolling Top 5 project selection process via workshops and one-on-one meetings.
Skill Requirements:
- Actively sponsor a minimum of five completed projects by addressing roadblocks and issues at both the project and program levels with a focus on the program level.
- Conduct a regular cadence of biweekly site reviews and actively participate in the reviews.
- Participate and present in a regular cadence of monthly executive reviews.
- Address roadblocks and issues at both the project and program level.
- Demonstrate successful application of all nine steps in the Leading Change Model by driving cultural change and creating the infrastructure to sustain the Rolling Top 5 program.
- Demonstrate how projects are developed in the Focus Phase of FACTUAL™, FUNCTIONAL™, or STRUCTURAL™ using the Rolling Top 5 process.
- Demonstrate how successful projects are implemented during the apply phase of FACTUAL, FUNCTIONAL, or STRUCTURAL.
- Demonstrate how successful projects are leveraged within the site and across the organization during the Leverage Phase of FACTUAL, FUNCTIONAL, or STRUCTURAL.
- Demonstrate the expansion of the Rolling Top 5 program.
Submission Requirements:
Shainin certification emphasizes the demonstration of developed skills rather than the accumulation of knowledge. The certification package should include:
- Output of Rolling Top 5 workshop.
- Technical resource matrices (technical and managerial candidates).
- Sponsorship matrix of five completed projects documenting role in Focus,
Apply and Leverage steps of FACTUAL, FUNCTIONAL, or STRUCTURAL.
- Documentation of review cadence of team leaders to management (management sponsor) and management to leadership (executive sponsor).
- Program results (closed projects, project savings).
- Change Leadership matrices.
Endorsement:
To attain Rolling Top 5 Executive certification, a Shainin Principal must endorse the candidate. The Shainin Principal will review the candidate's certification package and assess the their ability as indicated in the skill requirements section.
Time Limit:
Certification package must be submitted within 18 months after attending the Rolling Top 5 Executive class.
