There are no Shainin sponsored Strategies for Quality Control classes scheduled at this time. Please check back soon for availability, or contact us about scheduling one at your facility.

This course is designed for quality and manufacturing personnel responsible for assuring product quality. The class uses the latest advances in Red X® Strategies for Quality Control. Students will learn to solve manufacturing problems for features and defects. They will learn to define the problem based on the physics of how a feature is created or how a defect is revealed thus providing greater insight into the failure and accelerating the problem solving activities. They will learn to actively control processes through the application of process characterization and Precontrol.

Course Objectives:

This course is designed to enable participants to quickly and efficiently:

  • Identify feature and defect problems in the manufacturing environment.
  • Characterize a feature and a defect problem type and develop strategies for each.
  • Execute the appropriate Shainin® tools to converge on the root cause for each problem type.
  • Apply appropriate confirmation experiments to confirm the identity of the root cause.
  • Implement Precontrol to monitor the manufacturing process to ensure no bad parts will be produced.

Benefits:

Participants will use the skills and knowledge gained in this course to:

  • Apply Shainin techniques to quickly converge and confirm the root causes of production problems.
  • Implement corrective actions and apply Precontrol to monitor the manufacturing process.

Prerequisite:

No prior Shainin training is required to take this class. Attendees should be working in manufacturing or quality with direct access to the manufacturing process.
