Roger Heitzeg of Robert Bosch is the Shainin Rolling Top 5® Executive of the Year

For several years Shainin has recognized the hard work and determination of executives who have demonstrated the ability to manage an effective problem solving program. We are pleased to announce Roger Heitzeg, Director of Manufacturing, Operations, and Engineering, as the Shainin Rolling Top 5® Executive of the year. Mr. Heitzeg was responsible for the Shainin Rolling Top 5 program located in the Gasoline Systems Division of the Robert Bosch, South Carolina facility.

Roger led the charge to reduce scrap and rework at the Anderson site. His diligence improved throughput while scrap and rework were reduced by 80%. This reduction resulted in millions of dollars of hard savings annually for the facility. This savings was a direct outcome of the completion of fourteen Red X® projects.

As a result of Roger’s leadership, the Gasoline Systems Division developed a core group of Shainin problem solvers and Rolling Top 5 managers that will continue to improve manufacturing efficiency. In 2008 Roger’s group achieved the following Shainin certifications:

  • Rolling Top 5® Managers – 3
  • Red X® Apprentices – 5
  • Red X® Journeyman – 3
  • Red X® Masters – 1

Roger Heitzeg's hard work at Robert Bosch is a shining example of what a skillfully managed Shainin Rolling Top 5® program can accomplish. Congratulations to Roger.
